Honorable Mention: Unspoken Prayer Requests
Awesome list. This site doesn’t get old–everything is just as funny the second time around. And since there’s nowhere else to say it, merry Christmas! (Hope you’re keeping the Mass in Christmas. 😉 )
Merry Christmas, Jordan!
Agree with everything Jordan said. Keep up the good work and merry Christmas! 🙂
Oh, and there’s not a lot here from 2008 but Medical Prayer Requests is one of my personal favorites.
What Jordan said. This site has been quite therapeutic for me this past year (or however long it’s been since I discovered it). Merry Christmas!
@Jordan, not quite the way you normally hear it. 😉
Good good! Looking at these again is great. As Amanda said, great therapeutic means! Since I started reading here several months ago, I’ve changed quite a bit. And reading some again, I’m starting to understand them more as my mind continuously reforms.
Anyways, great list! And I might as well ditto Jordan too! 🙂
One of my favorites is “The Weaker Brother.” Your description of him as “sort of a shadowy character who spends all of his time hanging around outside places like bowling alleys and gas stations that sell booze, looking to see if anybody else is going in so he can get offended” still makes me laugh.
It’s like when you were always told you shouldn’t go to the “movie house” because the weaker brother (who always seems to be ever-present) can’t tell if you’re going to the movie rated G or R.
I appreciate this site. I still attend an IFB church, but it’s funny for you to point out some of the weirdness and quirks in the movement.
I missed “medical prayer requests”…but that is funny. I would always breathe a sigh of relief when I knew someone who was sick at the time so I wouldn’t have to come up with something else. Even to this day in my small group it helps, nothing is worse than saying “pass”.
this blog makes my life better…as Amanda said, it’s therapeutic
I really appreciate the hard work you put into writing these posts. I have read every one of them. I agree that 1963 is the No. 1 post of 2009. I love this site. It cracks me up.
I agree also with 1963 being #1. Probably one of the better posts I’ve ever read here.
