from the hadith:
A Bedouin came to the prophet, grabbed the stirrup of his camel and said: O the messenger of God! Teach me something to go to heaven with it. Prophet said: “As you would have people do to you, do to them; and what you dislike to be done to you, don’t do to them. Now let the stirrup go! [This maxim is enough for you; go and act in accordance with it!]”
—Kitab al-Kafi, vol. 2, p. 146
It’s part of their belief system even if some don’t practice it.
I do hope people are courteous enough to me to not judge me by the actions of other Christians. Like Anders Brevinck.
What a tragedy that the hadith isn’t sacred as the koran is. The koran…that recipe book for murdeous intolerance.
No more murderous than the Torah.
My kingdom for a comment with a little toned down self righteous declarations re: whoever “those people” happens to be on any given day.
