There’s a lot going on in the world right now. Elections. Hurricanes. Strife and sorrow on every side.
I strongly recommend you just sit back for a minute, close your eyes, and listen to this truly great hymn. It’s good for what ails all of us.

First?
Wow. Now that I actually take time to stop and see and listen to what was posted this morning, I almost feel badly for such posting what seems like such a self-seeking comment.
What a beautiful hymn, and so beautifully sung.
I especially love this verse:
Though He giveth or He taketh,
God His children neβer forsaketh;
His the loving purpose solely
To preserve them pure and holy.
Thanks for this reminder this morning, Darrel.
Don’t feel too bad RBF. I’ve done this too. Post a goofy first comment only to realize after reading the post that is was serious in nature.
This song has perhaps the greatest lyrics ever. I first came to know this song thru Indelible Grace
This is my mom’s favorite hymn.
First loser!

This is a beautiful hymn, Darrell. Thanks for posting it.
“In his loving arms he bears them.” I did need this today. But I was on my way out the door, all ready for work. Now I’m crying, and my make-up is a mess :'(
Understood perfectly. I’m already a mess and I’m not even wearing makeup at the moment! <3
I need a butt cushion ya’ll π
I loves me so A Cappella music.
What a great way to start the weekend. Thanks D. π
I really needed this today. Thank you for posting.
I love the architecture too. It looks like the capitol building here in Va that was designed my Tom Jefferson.
Just what I needed this morning, Thank you Darrell. I used to love listening to Concordia on “The Lutheran Hour”.
Thanks so much Darrell. Very lovely and needed. I got my power back last night and am cleaning up the Sandy mess. I didn’t realize how tense I must have been during the ordeal until I just suddenly started crying this morning. So many have a much bigger/longer path to return to normal.
Oh and I missed you guys. π
Glad you are safe. Praying for you and your family in the recovery/clean-up process.
Why I love this place.
My best to you and your family. I hope everyone affected can recover as quickly as possible.
One of my all favorite hymns. Thanks for posting it.
Love this. Thank you.
Nice harmony; enjoy a capella music.
Thank you.
I’m number 15. I’m number 15. I hope. Do I get a third of a butt cushion Natalie? π
Ooh, an interesting math algorithm! So, if first gets a butt cushion (1/1), then second must get half a butt cushion (1/2), etc. But that would only give you 1/15 of a butt cushion! Are you trying to steal, or are you using a non-linear algorithm? Also, you forgot to adjust for Net Present Value. Based upon the current yield of T-Bill, adjusted for your tardiness of 2 hrs and 4 minutes, you actually only get…
Awesome reminder. Play it again, pronounce the benediction, and dismiss!
Nice reminder. Very soothing music. Thanks Darrell! I think politics tends to bring out the worst in everyone. π
This song almost never fails to bring tears to my eyes. It’s such a comforting song.
I’m not ashamed that this moves me to tears. God is so gracious and good.
Amen!
Dear Darrell:
Another wonderful hymn! O, to live our faith out of that prayerful hymn to our covenant-keeping God!
Christian Socialist
What was going thru my mind when it first started playing… “Children, children, children of the Corn” Sounded lovely tho. π
I started to hear the Simpsons, “Children are the future” but then i felt less jokey as soon as the verse started
“Thereβs a lot going on in the world right now. Elections. Hurricanes. Strife and sorrow on every side”
Luke 21:31 So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.
One of our favorites!

Thank you. I needed this today.
This truly is a great hymn, but whenever I hear it, I think of the boy who sat next to me in Children’s Choir all those years ago. He refused to sing “bosom” because he thought it was a dirty word. π³
Definitely like this song, although I prefer Plumb’s version http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OV3MelnO90c
Nice! I’ve recently been listening to Plumb and enjoying her music.
If the mere existence of beauty could cure ails, then surely vocal harmony would be the one to do the trick.
Thank you Darrell. I needed this. Bless you.
