  2. Phil Kidd! That’s funny. Anyone who is looking for Kidd because they like him would take one look at this site and curse it to the pit! (bless Gawd!)A friend in my community group recommended this site a couple of weeks ago and I’ve been addicted ever since. (Thanks Justin!!!)

    2. The Wizard of Oz stuff doesn’t just happen in Fundy churches. I mentioned showing the WoO at a children’s ministry event in a United Methodist. The “logic” was that it was really about drug use in Hollywood in the 30’s. I had no words for that. Still don’t.

  4. I first found this site when I was searching for an illustration of the story about Elisha and the she-bears. I hit the mother lode.

    4. I somehow stumbled accross it when someone who left my church told me to get online and watch the 20/20 specials about IFB being cultish. Since I hadn’t watched them I did and while doing that somehow I stumbled upon SFL! I am so happy I did!!! 😀

    1. I’m gonna google this, cause I wanna know the 7 sites more “popular” about wizard of oz conspiracy theories. I assume nothing about Pink Floyd CD’s would be in a search for a conspiracy?

  11. I actually was looking to see if there was a site of other people who used to be fundies. Having read some of the other ‘stuff ____ like’ sites, I searched for ‘stuff fundamentalists like’. I guess I’m just strange like that.

    1. Ditto. If my memory serves me correctly I found SFL while searching for ex-fundy sites. I can’t remember the exact search term I used, but it definitely wasn’t any of those listed above! The “spanking ritual” ritual kind of weirds me out. 😯

    1. I guess I do not belong here for I cannot for the life of me see anything funny about “Gid”.

      YOu must all be kinda looney, left over from your fundy days. Makes me feel kinda good tho. I guess I never was a true fundy.

      1. i believe that “gid” refers to a post several months ago when someone was arguing against this website and used the word “gid” (with lower case) instead of “God”

    1. I think with it being commented they probably use google to search the site trying to find the origin of that. I would if I hadn’t read it “live”.

      1. After doing a quick search for “gid,” it turns out it’s an acronym for “Gender identity disorder.” If that’s what someone was searching for, they were in for a bit of a shock when they stumbled across SFL. 😉

  18. Strangely, “Spanking Ritual” is also a search term someone used to find my Blog. I imagine for entirely different reasons.

  21. I got here from the SFL FB page, which I got to by FB-searching some fundy BS artist, maybe Schaap or Hyles…. I forget, but SFL rocks my world. 😉

  22. I found SFL by looking up PCC. I was disenchanted with Beka’s “customer service”. I already knew PCC was weird (the boys getting Viagra prescriptions so they can do it on their wedding nights), but I had no idea what it was like there. I went to HAC but had considered PCC.

    1. Wait…what? College-aged boys/men from PCC are so freaked out by vaginas they need Viagra? Please, please, please, tell me this is urban legend like the pink & blue sidewalks @ BJU. 😯

      1. Kreine, when I was attending First Holy Baptist Church of the Separated, Sin-hating, Old-Fashioned, KJV-Idolators, the MOG Lieutenant (MOG’s wife) told me this. At the time her two oldest children, both boys, were attending PCC. One of them told her this, and she told me. The fact that the sexually charged atmosphere would contribute to such odd behavior escaped her.

        I suppose this counts as gossip but I had no reason then or now to disbelieve it.

        1. If it was/is true, that makes me really sad. It’s not enough Fundies have to ruin sex for women with their overstatement of sexual purity & submission, but they ruin it for the men with virgin/whore dichotomy, too?

  23. I found this site a couple of years ago, when I googled “Christian appearance”. I had just been chewed out (in love of course) by a fundy-type Christian for having tattoos, lots of them. Growing up in the Northern Ireland Evangelical Protestant Subculture is a bit like gtowing up in IFB, so I have found this site to be great therapy. I found this particular topic today through the “Random Post” button at the top of the page. Sometimes the mind boggles…..

    1. That’s how I found this page, too. It fits in with the SFL bday post, so I thought it good to resurrect.
